MASTER LOCK “MASTER CAMPUS CHALLENGE” SWEEPSTAKES, INSTANT WIN, and UGC CONTEST OFFICIAL RULES

The following content constitute the Official Rules for the Master Lock “MASTER CAMPUS CHALLENGE” Sweepstakes, Instant Win, and User Generated Photo Contest (“Official Rules”).

This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. In entering this promotion, you are providing your information to Master Lock Company LLC and not to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A purchase will not increase your chance of winning. Must be a permanent lawful resident of the 50 United States, District of Columbia (“D.C.”) or Canada, excluding Puerto Rico, other U.S. territories and Quebec. Must be 13 or older at time of entry (Maine residents must be 18 or older). Minors must obtain their parent’s or legal guardian’s permission before entering. Void where prohibited by law. Internet access required.

A. Promotion Period: The Master Lock “MASTER CAMPUS CHALLENGE” Sweepstakes, Instant Win, and Photo Contest, sponsored by Master Lock Company, LLC, (“Sponsor”) and administered by Brandmovers, Inc., (“Administrator”) (collectively, the “Promotion Parties”), begins on July 15, 2013 at 7:00:01 a.m. Central Daylight Time (“CDT”) (the “Start Date”) and ends on September 8, 2013 at 11:59:59 p.m. CDT (the “End Date”) (collectively, the “Promotion Period”). The Promotion consists of the Campus Challenge Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”), Daily Instant Wins, and a User Generated Photo Contest. The Sweepstakes consists of two (2) parts: the Grand Prize Sweepstakes (the “Grand Prize Sweepstakes”) and the Weekly Sweepstakes (the “Weekly Sweepstakes”). Sponsor’s computer is the official timekeeping device of the Sweepstakes.

B. Eligibility: Entry into the Promotion is open to permanent lawful residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia (“D.C.”), and Canada (EXCLUDING Puerto Rico, other US territories, and Quebec) who are 13 years or older at time of entry (except for residents of Maine, who must be at least 18 years or older at time of entry to enter) (“Entrant”). If you are under the legal age of majority in your state or province of residence (a "Minor"), you certify that one of your parents or legal guardians has read, understood and agreed to these Promotion rules with your Entry (as hereinafter defined), and that such agreement constitutes acceptance of these Promotion rules on behalf of you and themselves. Employees, officers and directors of the Promotion Parties, their parent, affiliate and subsidiary companies, the agents and advertising and promotion agencies of each of the foregoing, and members of the immediate families (defined for these purposes as including parents, spouse, siblings, children, grandparents, and each of their respective spouses) or households (whether related or not) of any of the above, are NOT eligible to enter or win. By entering the Promotion, Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final, and agree to waive all rights and remedies at law or in equity for any claim they may have relating to, or arising from, this Promotion. The Promotion is subject to all applicable laws and regulations of the United States and Canada, and is void in Quebec, outside of the 50 United States, D.C. and Canada, and where prohibited by law.

C. How to Enter: There are two (2) ways to participate in the Promotion; entry into the Sweepstakes and entry into the Contest:

1. Sweepstakes Method of Entry: To enter the Daily Instant Win, the Weekly Sweepstakes and the Grand Prize Sweepstakes, you must visit www.MasterCampusChallenge.com (the “Website”) during the Promotion Period, click on “Enter Campus Challenge Sweepstakes”, and follow the on-screen instructions to: (a) enter your email address; (b) register with Sponsor by completing all required fields; (c) electronically agree and accept these Rules; and, (d) press “Submit”. Before pressing Submit, you will also have the opportunity to check the “Opt-In for Weekly Email” box. By checking this box you agree to receive email reminders about the Promotion, including entry deadlines for the Sweepstakes and the Contest. Returning participants will not have to re-enter their information, as their email address will be recognized. Once the registration has been submitted, users will be taken to the Master Lock Campus, where they can play games to earn points, or submit a photo.

Entrant will have the option of following on-screen instructions to earn points into the Weekly Sweepstakes and Grand Prize Sweepstakes Points by playing a timed lock animation game (each a “Game”). One ‘point’ (as described below) will equal one entry into the sweepstakes. There will be eight (8) Games total during the Promotion Period, and each Game will run for one (1) week at a time, as described below. To play a Game, Entrant will be shown an on-screen interactive lock that must be unlocked using a hint that will be provided on-screen. One play = 1 point (for both Weekly Sweepstakes and Grand Prize Sweepstakes). One correct code = 1 point (for both Weekly Sweepstakes and Grand Prize Sweepstakes).

Sharing Feature: Any form of sharing (via Social Media/Add This function or email) = 1 point per day (for both Weekly and Grand Prize Sweepstakes). Entrants can only provide contact information for those “friends” from whom they have obtained consent to provide personal contact information to the Sponsor. Referred e-mail addresses will only be used by the Sponsor for the purpose of contacting the individual to provide information about entering this Promotion and will not be added to any direct marketing list or used in any direct marketing programs without consent.

An Entrant can play as many times as they wish, however for the weekly sweepstakes and grand prize sweepstakes, there will be a limit of 12 points (entries) per day total; of this total, no more than 1 point can come from a UGC approved submission and 1 point can come from a share. (For the avoidance of doubt and by way of example, an Entrant could get 12 points though Game Play, or could get 11 points for Game Play and one point for a share, or 10 points for Game Play, one point for a share and one point for a UCG approved submission). UGC entry must meet criteria and be “approved” before user will see the earned point in their point summary.

Daily Instant Win: There will be One (1) winner per day for the Daily Instant Win. A user will be notified if they are the daily Instant Winner after successfully unlocking that particular week’s lock in the Game. There will be 56 Instant Wins throughout the Promotion Period, as described in the chart below. Each Daily Instant winner will receive One (1) daily Instant Win Prize consisting of (1) Master Lock dialSpeed digital combination lock and (1) $25 Visa gift card.

Weekly Sweepstakes: Entrants may enter each Weekly Sweepstakes Period on any day within that Weekly Sweepstakes Period’s Start and End Dates, as detailed below. Limit: 12 points (entries) per day.

Eight (8) Weekly Sweepstakes Prizes will be awarded during the Promotion Period –randomly drawn at week’s end from among all entries received in the prior week. All non-winning entries WILL NOT be carried over to subsequent Weekly drawing periods.

At the end of each week, the Weekly Prize Sweepstakes Entries will reset to zero points to allow for the next week's entries. Each week’s earned points are entered into that week’s Weekly drawing. These points are also entered into the Grand Prize drawing.

Grand Prize Sweepstakes: Entrants may enter the Grand Prize Sweepstakes any time during the Promotion Period. All entries must be received by 11:59:59 p.m. CDT on September 8, 2013 to be eligible for the Grand Prize Sweepstakes random drawing. Limit of 12 Points (entries) per day throughout the Promotion Period, for a total of 672 eligible Points (entries) for the Grand Prize Sweepstakes.

One Grand Prize Sweepstakes Grand Prize will be awarded during the Promotion Period randomly drawn on or about September 9, 2013 from among all entries received during the Promotion Period.

At the end of each week, the Weekly Prize Sweepstakes Entries will reset to zero points to allow for the next week's entries. Each week’s earned points are entered into that week’s Weekly drawing. These points are also entered into the Grand Prize drawing.

General Sweepstakes Entry Considerations: Each Sweepstakes and Instant Win Entry must be made by an individual person; use of script, macro, or other automated systems to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification. Entries will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. The “authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. The potential winner may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder. Incomplete, unreadable, or unintelligible entries will be disqualified. If Entrant is considered a minor in his or her state or province of residence, Entrant will receive permission from his or her parent/legal guardian. Entrants must provide all information requested to be eligible to win. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

2. Contest Method of Entry:

  1. Requirements for entry: Entry requires the Entrant to have a valid TwitterTM account (for a photo entry) or Instagram™ account (for a photo or video entry). Entrants may only submit a video entry via Instagram. Registration to obtain a Twitter account, and Instagram account are free. To register for Twitter, go to www.twitter.com and follow the on-screen instructions to create a new account. To register for Instagram, go to www.instagram.com and follow the on-screen instructions to create a new account. Your Twitter account must have a non-private setting and must be linked to your Instagram account (if using an Instagram video or photo). By submitting an Entry, Entrant agrees to abide by the terms of these Official Rules, the Sponsor’s Privacy Policy, all Twitter Terms and Conditions available at https://twitter.com/tos and Instagram Terms and Conditions available at http://instagram.com/legal/terms/. THIS CONTEST IS IN NO WAY SPONSORED, ENDORSED OR ADMINISTERED BY, OR ASSOCIATED WITH, BY TWITTER OR INSTAGRAM.
  2. How to enter to Contest: To enter the Contest, you must visit www.MasterCampusChallenge.com (the “Website”) during the Promotion Period, and (a) enter your email address; (b) register with Sponsor by completing all required fields; (c) provide your Twitter or Instagram user name(s); (d) electronically agree and accept these Rules; and, (e) press “submit”. Before pressing Submit, you will also have the opportunity to check the “Opt-In for Weekly Email” box. By checking this box you agree to receive email reminders about the Promotion, including entry deadlines for the Sweepstakes and the Contest. Returning participants will not have to re-enter their information, as their email address will be recognized. Once the registration has been submitted, create and a photo or video into the Contest (a “Photo Entry”, “Video entry”, or “Contest Entry”). Select the option to “share” your photo via Instagram or Twitter or video via Instagram by using hashtag #MasterCampusChallenge. By sending an Entry, each entrant consents to receive from the Sponsor a reply Twitter or Instagram message and, if applicable, a Twitter message, e-mail and/or phone call notifying such entrant that he/she is a potential winner. Message and data rates may apply and may be higher if Entrant submits a video entry. Entrants should contact their appropriate internet, wireless and/or phone service providers for complete details with respect to message and data rates both for sent and received messages. Once you have and submitted a Photo Entry or Video Entry and your entry is viewable on the Website you will be considered a Contest Entrant (“Contest Entrant”). Contest Entry requirements are as follows:

Content of Contest Entry: To be valid and eligible, Contest Entries must adhere to the requirements and limitations set forth in this section.

  1. Each Photo Entry or Video Entry shall consist of one (1) photo or video taken by the Entrant. Each Entry shall contain the image of at least one Master Lock lock being used in a way that helps the entrant secure their valuables. For purposes of this Contest, an Entrant may use a real Master Lock lock, or the image of a Master Lock lock; an Entrant need not purchase a Master Lock lock in order to enter or win.
  2. To enter, log into your Twitter or Instagram account. If you are using your mobile phone for participation, see below for important disclaimers. Photo or Video Entries must be submitted through Twitter for Photo entries) or Instagram (for Photo or Video Entries) using the hashtag #MasterCampusChallenge. There is no limit to how many times an Entrant may enter a unique Photo or Video Entry during the Promotion Period, provided each Entry is different and distinct from any prior Entry; an Entrant may not use the same photo or video for more than one (1) Photo/Video Entry. You are cautioned not to use this hashtag for purposes other than contest entry. In addition, re-tweets of the original tweet will not result in entry into the Contest.
  3. The following is a list of prohibited content: obscene, lewd, offensive content; content not suitable for certain ages; commercial content; content previously published or entered into this or another Contest; and third party content (e.g. any copyrighted material, third party trademarks, and/or names/likenesses of third parties); disparages Sponsor and or reflects poorly on Sponsor’s brand. The Promotional Parties reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to disqualify or refuse to post an entry at any time. Photo or Video Entries not adhering to these guidelines and restrictions will be considered ineligible, will be disqualified from the Contest, and will be destroyed. Please allow at least seventy-two (72) hours for Photo or Video Entries to be available for viewing on the Website. For a description of Contest winner determination and notification see paragraph titled “Contest” under Section 4 below.

General Contest Entry Considerations:

  1. Each Contest Entry must be made by an individual person; Photo or Video Entries must be the sole creation of the photographer. Each Entry may not have won previous awards, may not have been published previously, and must not be awaiting publication or consideration in another contest. Additionally, the entry must be suitable for all ages, not obscene or indecent. Promotion Parties, at their sole discretion, retain the right to dismiss any photos that do not adhere to the terms under these Official Rules. If a child or children are in the video, entrant must be the parent or legal guardian of the child/children featured and grants permission to Sponsor to publically post the video in connection with this Contest. Entries will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. Only Contest Entrants who register their Twitter or Instagram accounts will be eligible to win the Contest. The “authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. The potential winner may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder. Incomplete, unreadable, or unintelligible entries will be disqualified. If Entrant is considered a minor in his/her state or province of residence, Entrant will receive permission from his/her parent/legal guardian. Entrants must provide all information requested to be eligible to win.
  2. Entrant grants to Sponsor and its designees the non-exclusive, irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, royalty free, transferrable right and license to use, perform, exhibit, reproduce and or otherwise exploit the photo in any manner and in any and all channels, venues or media now known or hereafter devised without further notice or compensation. Entrant further expressly acknowledges that Sponsor has wide access to ideas, stories, designs and other materials submitted to it similar to or even identical to Entrant’s photo and that of Sponsor.
  3. Message and data rates apply to the use of mobile phone for entry. You may be charged by your carrier for submitting your entry. Be sure to check your wireless carrier’s pricing plan before entering via mobile phone. Not all mobile phones offer wireless Internet access; and, wireless Internet access may not be available in all areas.

D. Winner Determination and Notification:

Daily Instant Win: One (1) winner for each Daily Instant Win Period (“Daily Winner”) will be randomly selected from all eligible entries (game players who successfully unlock lock) received during each Daily Instant Win Period. There will be a total of fifty-six (56) Daily Winners. Eligible Daily Potential winners will be notified on or about the day of each Daily Drawing, or as soon thereafter as reasonably practicable. For complete details on potential winner notification, see below.

Weekly Sweepstakes: One (1) winner for each Weekly Sweepstakes Period (“Weekly Winner”) will be randomly selected from all eligible entries (game players who successfully unlock lock) received during each Weekly Sweepstakes Period on or about two (2) days immediately following each Weekly Sweepstakes Period End Date, or as soon thereafter as reasonably practicable (each a “Weekly Drawing”). There will be a total of eight (8) Weekly Winners. Potential winners will be notified on or about the day of each Weekly Drawing, or as soon thereafter as reasonably practicable. For complete details on potential winner notification, see below.

Grand Prize Drawing: On or about September 9, 2013, one (1) Grand Prize winner will be selected by Administrator via a random drawing, conducted from among all eligible Grand Prize Sweepstakes entries received during the Promotion Period. Odds of winning the Grand Prize depend upon the number of eligible Grand Prize Sweepstakes entries are received. The potential Grand Prize winner will be notified by telephone, email or postal mail on or about September 10, 2013.

UGC Contest: One (1) Contest winner will be selected (“Photo and Video Contest Winner”) from among all eligible Photo and Video Entries. Photo and video Entries will be judged based on the following criteria and percentages: a) Creativity— an Entrant’s novel and distinct use of the materials, props, and Master Lock lock (33.3%); b) Uniqueness— originality and rareness as compared to other Entries, including the option to artificially enhance or modify their photographs or videos through the use of photograph enhancement applications or software (33.4%); and, c) Content— all Photo and Video Entries must contain the image of at least one (1) Master Lock lock (as described above) being used in the most unique and creative way (33.3%) (collectively “Judging Criteria”).

Photo and Video Entries will be judged by a judging panel review (“Judging Panel Review”). The Judging Panel Review will be conducted by a judging panel (the “Judging Panel”), which will consist of a group of judges to be picked by the Promotion Parties at their sole discretion. The Judging Panel will apply the judging criteria set forth in the preceding paragraph using the point system as follows to select the winning Entry (“Judging Points”): ten (10) points awarded for creativity, ten points awarded for uniqueness, and ten points awarded for content. The Photo or Video Entry with the highest final score (the “Final Score”) as determined by the Judging Panel using the above-mentioned Judging Criteria and Judging Points, will be selected as the Grand Prize Winner. The Judging Panel will judge the Photo and Video Entries based on the above-mentioned Judging Criteria. Judging Panel Review will take place within five (5) days of the End Date of the Promotion Period, or as soon thereafter as reasonably practicable. In the event of a tie, the tied Photo or Video Entry with the highest Judging Points in the creativity Judging Criteria will be deemed the winner from among all tying Entries.

Notwithstanding the aforementioned, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to reduce the number of awarded prizes, or to not award a prize, for any reason, including but not limited to, an inferior amount of eligible Photo or Video Entry submissions than anticipated or unclaimed prizes, and further reserves the right to have final say in any and all matters related to the judging of the Photo Entries and the determination of the Contest winner. Potential Photo and Video Contest Winner will be notified within seven (7) days of the Judging Panel Review, or as soon thereafter as reasonably practicable.

General Notification Release and Canada Skills Question: Promotion Parties shall have no liability for any winner notification that is lost, intercepted or not received by the potential winners for any reason. If a potential Daily Instant winner or Weekly Sweepstakes winner or the Grand Prize Sweepstakes Winner is from Canada, he or she must first correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question posed by mail or telephone at a mutually convenient time before being declared a prize winner.

All federal, state or provincial, municipal and local taxes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winners. If any winner is a minor in his/her state or province, the prize may be awarded in the name of winner’s parent or legal guardian who will be responsible for meeting all conditions of prize award, including payment of any taxes. If the winner of the Grand Prize is a resident of the United States, he or she will receive an IRS Form 1099 reflecting the final actual value of the prize. If the winner of the Grand Prize is a resident of Canada, he or she will be responsible for declaration and payment of any taxes owing in connection with his or her acceptance and/or use of the Grand Prize. All prizes are awarded “as is” and Sponsor makes no representation or warranty with regard to any prize. Any difference between the stated ARV and actual value of any prize will not be awarded in cash or in any other form. Dollar amounts are expressed in U.S. currency. No transfer or substitution of prizes (or any portion thereof) or cash alternative permitted, except by Sponsor in its sole discretion or as otherwise provided herein. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the event the advertised prize is unavailable. The prizes will be awarded according to these Official Rules and distributed no later than October 30, 2013, provided a sufficient quantity of qualifying entries are received and the prizes are claimed properly in accordance with these Official Rules. This Promotion, or any part thereof, is subject to cancellation at any time, for any reason and without prior notice.

F. Winners (parent/legal guardian if a winner is a minor in his/her state or province) must provide positive identification specified by Sponsor to claim/participate in a prize and will be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility (Declaration of Eligibility if a resident of Canada) and Liability/Publicity Release without additional compensation (where permitted by law) within five (5) days of notification or the prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner, time permitting. If a winner is deemed a minor in his/her state or province of residence, the prize will be awarded in the name of a parent or legal guardian. If prize notification is returned as undeliverable, prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner, time permitting. Except where prohibited, acceptance of a prize constitutes the winner’s agreement to hold harmless Sponsor, its parent, affiliate and subsidiary companies, Agency, and the officers, directors, employees and agents of each of them (individually and collectively for the purposes of this Paragraph, “Promotion Parties”) from and against any injuries, losses or damages arising in any way from or in connection with their participation in this promotion, the acceptance, possession or use of the prize, Promotion Parties’ reliance upon their compliance with these Rules, or their participation in prize-related activities, and further constitutes winner’s agreement that the Promotion Parties may use his/her name, voice, likeness and/or biographical data for advertising and promotional purposes in any and all media worldwide without limitation or additional compensation. Winners may be posted on the winners’ page of Sponsor’s website and may be announced by news release. Winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements of these Official Rules, including verification of Entrant’s eligibility.

G. Promotion Parties are not responsible for: (i) electronic, wireless or digital transmissions or any entries that are lost, late, damaged, stolen, garbled, destroyed, misdirected, illegible or incomplete; (ii) any problems or technical malfunctions, errors, omissions, interruptions, deletions, defects, delays in operation or transmission, communication failures, destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries; (iii) failed or unavailable hardware, network, software, or telephone transmissions, damage to an Entrant's or any person's computer and/or its/their contents, or causes beyond the Promotion Parties’ reasonable control that jeopardize the execution, security, fairness, integrity, or proper administration of this Promotion; (iv) any entries submitted in a manner that is not expressly allowed under these Official Rules; (v) incorrect or inaccurate entry information whether caused by Entrants or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Promotion; (vi) any typographical or other error in the printing or advertising of the offer, administration or execution of the Promotion, or in the announcement of prize(s)/prize winner(s); or (vii) malfunctions or interference resulting from illicit, malicious or injurious conduct (including but not limited to viruses, worms and denial of service attacks). Promotion Parties reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to disqualify and prosecute any individual who tampers with or attempts to tamper with the entry process or enters using any automatic and/or programmed entry duplication method.

By participating, entrant indemnifies, releases and agrees to hold harmless Sponsor, its affiliates, parent and subsidiaries and the directors, officers, agents, representatives, shareholders, employees, successors and assigns of any of the above organizations, as well as Facebook Twitter and Instagram, from any and all liability arising from participating in the Promotion, any promotion relation activity, or any use or misuse of any prize.
